Biking in Puerto Viejo is a must! Everyone rides bikes in Puerto Viejo and you’ll see both locals and foreigners alike riding their “banana bikes” on the main road. The spectacular natural wonder known as Nauyaca comprises two impressive waterfalls. Hike over a 4km route to reach the first waterfall which stands at 45m in free fall, and a second tiered waterfall standing at 20m. Together they form a 1,000sqm pool perfect for swimming, and a number of small natural pools for paddling.
