The Panama Tropical Island Family Adventure
If seven private beaches on a 400-acre island in calm and warm ocean waters sound like your idea of a family getaway, let’s talk. Isla Palenque is the tropical island experience that you have been dreaming of during the past year.
Recommended Activities: Water sports such as: Standup Paddling and Ocean Kayaking. Island Hopping and Whale Watching (Aug to Nov), Island Hikes or Visit to the Hotel Farm to learn about our Farm to Table Food program.
Recommended Hotel: Isla Palenque with 8 Beachfront Casitas or a 6-bedroom private Villa Estate. The trip could be combined with a stay in Panama City or the hills of Boquete.
Do not miss: The Secret of the Islands Tour which takes you deep into the rainforest of the island where you find artifacts from indigenous cultures that inhabited the island years ago. It almost feels like an Indian Jones kind of adventure….
Best for: Families with elementary school age kids and older that want to spend quality time together.
Note: Fly to Panama City and connect on a domestic flight to David. We will pick you up there and take you to the port of Boca Chica. From there it is a 15-minute boat ride to the island.
“Best vacation ever! Who would have thought sustainable hotels could be so luxurious, educational, and fun?! Our family loved all the hikes, learned to surf, had a blast on the excursions and could not get enough of the delicious food. Of course, we also spent some time relaxing by the pool. It changed our lives and taught all of us about sustainability (we try to avoid single use plastics now as much as we can). We can’t wait to return!”
And in case you need to get a break from the kids, we have some options for a romantic getaway as well. Check out Hotel Aguas Claras in Puerto Viejo on the Costa Rican Caribbean Coast or the Kura Boutique Hotel in Uvita overlooking the Marino Ballena National Park.
